Malaysian drivers will soon enjoy a seamless cashless, touchless parking experience. Just drive in and out of a parking site, and fees will be auto-deducted from the FlexiParking app.
“The process is simple. In your FlexiParking App (FP App), just tick the LPR option for your selected vehicles to enjoy frictionless parking,” said Mr. Lai Thiam Sin, Founder and CEO of Leading Innovative Technologies & Systems Sdn Bhd (LITS), the company behind FP App and Malaysia’s largest on-street parking solution provider.
“Our app has over 5 million registered users and vehicle plates. It’s time to extend our strength to off-street parking. We’ve chosen long-time partner TimeTec Parking to roll out the first 50 LPR sites with us, expected more in the next 6 months,” Lai added.
At the signing of the one-year exclusivity agreement held at TimeTec Parking HQ, TimeTec Founder and CEO Mr. Teh Hon Seng commented, “We’ve been aggressively promoting cashless, touchless parking for the past two years. The integration with FlexiParking brings a vast user base and speed up our parking plan as the digital gateway for the next activities in our smart building ecosystem.”
Teh emphasized that users will enjoy convenience while parking operators and building owners will benefit from lower MDR rates and stronger revenue assurance.
With LPR technology now achieving 99.97% accuracy, its adoption is accelerating. Unlike RFID tags, car plates are natural unique identifiers with no extra credential costs. Traditional LPR parking still required users to stop at exits for card payments, slowing traffic. eWallet Direct removes this bottleneck, enabling true drive-through convenience.
“With more eWallets and LPR sites joining, I foresee at least 1,000 parking sites adopting eWallet Direct in the next year,” Teh projected.
Some of the parking sites that will be enabled with FP App’s eWallet Direct for LPR include Serdang Hospital, as well as several other key locations such as Medan Agro Cameron Highlands, Kelana Park View, UTS Keramat Mall, KIPMall Bangi, KLoe Hotel, Pasar Sri Petaling, GoPark@KLIA, Kuchai Exchange and many more.
