As someone who regularly claims parking fees for work purposes, I used to dread the process. Finding the receipt, making sure it\u2019s valid, and then submitting it manually was always a hassle, especially when it came to casual parking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But recently, I parked at a site using an\u202fLPR (License Plate Recognition) parking system, and for the first time, I experienced how smooth it can be to request an\u202fe-Invoice\u202ffor my casual parking. Here\u2019s how it worked for me. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

STEP 1:<\/mark> <\/strong>
Entry and Exit \u2014 No Ticket Needed<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I drove into the parking site, there was no need to take a physical ticket. The LPR system automatically recognized my car plate number and recorded the entry time. When I exited, the system calculated the parking fee and deducted it directly from my\u202fTnG\u202for\u202fSetel eWallet, which I had pre-linked to my car plate and given consent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

No ticket. No paper. Just seamless entry and exit. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

STEP 2:<\/mark><\/strong>
Receive Transaction Notification<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shortly after exiting, I received a notification from the TnG or Setel eWallet app showing all the transaction details: parking duration, amount paid, and car plate number. Everything was clearly documented and transparent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But here’s the catch:\u202fI still couldn\u2019t submit a claim\u202fto my company without an\u202fofficial e-Invoice. And I couldn\u2019t ask TnG or Setel for it either, they\u2019re just payment platforms, not the actual parking service providers. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

STEP 3:<\/mark><\/strong>
Scan QR Code or Download Parking App<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fortunately, after I parked, I noticed a\u202fQR code\u202fdisplayed on the pillar by the parking provider. Scanning it led me to either a\u202fparking app download\u202for directly to a\u202fwebpage. I bookmarked the page and waited until I completed my parking session and payment before proceeding to request the e-Invoice. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

STEP 4: <\/mark><\/strong>
Requesting the E-Invoice<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now for the best part – actually requesting the e-Invoice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the parking app or webpage, I simply entered my\u202fcar plate number\u202fand filled in the relevant information (like my\u202fcompany details\u202for\u202fpersonal tax information), then submitted the request. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within minutes, I received a\u202fLHDN-compliant e-Invoice\u202fin PDF format by email, ready to be attached to my claim form. Even better, the system saved my\u202fTIN (Tax Identification Number), so the next time I park at the same site or another site using the same system, the process will be even quicker. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

What About Non-eWallet-Direct-Activated Sites Using LPR Systems?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not every parking site is equipped with an e-wallet-direct integrated LPR system, and that\u2019s perfectly okay. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At these sites, before exiting, I simply scanned the QR code displayed around the building or lobby, that led me to a payment webpage or mobile app. From there, I keyed in my car plate number and proceeded to make an online payment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If I hadn\u2019t made the payment online, no problem, I could still settle the fee at the exit via a cashless kiosk using my card. The system recorded my transaction just the same. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just like before, whether I paid online or at the kiosk, I returned to the same webpage or app and entered either my car plate number or the TnG\/credit\/debit card number I used. The e-Invoice was then delivered straight to my email inbox as a PDF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What About Non-LPR Parking Sites?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also learned that for sites\u202fwithout LPR, where I use\u202fTnG card\u202for\u202fcredit\/debit card\u202fto enter and exit, the process is a bit different. I need to enter my\u202fcard number\u202fin the same app or website for the system to retrieve the parking transaction and generate an e-Invoice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For\u202fticketing system\u202fsites, it works similarly. The\u202fprinted receipt\u202ffrom the Auto Payment Machine (APM) includes a QR code, I just scan it to access the webpage or app, and then key in the\u202freceipt number\u202fto request the e-Invoice. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Why This Matters<\/strong>\u00a0<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the past, I had to ignore some parking claims because the sites weren\u2019t e-Invoice ready, or the process was so tedious it wasn\u2019t worth the effort, some even required me to visit or call the parking office. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But thanks to these\u202fsmart parking systems\u202fwith\u202fe-Invoice-ready features, claiming casual parking fees is no longer a burden. From a compliance standpoint, it also gives my company peace of mind, especially now that\u202fLHDN\u2019s e-Invoicing\u202fis rolling out nationwide. <\/p>\n<\/div>
